                        Scholarship Information

Scholarship information arrives at school on an ongoing basis through a variety of means - internet, mail etc. Students interested in receiving scholarship information are encouraged to email the Guidance Counsellor (valeriedavis@esdnl.ca) so they can be included in the scholarship information list serve.  When scholarship information arrives it is posted on the school's web page as a link, on the scholarship information board outside of the guidance office and it is also posted to monitor announcements.  Often the information that arrives by mail is received with very little time left for students to apply. Therefore, all students are strongly encouraged to sign on with studentawards.com and/or scholarshipcanada.com Once registered with these sites students will receive timely notice of a
variety of scholarships they can apply for.

                Post-Secondary School Information

Information regarding various post-secondary schools is available in the Guidance office. If I don't have the information requested I will help the student find it. Most of our graduating students attend either Memorial University (MUN) or the College of the North Atlantic (CNA). Both schools make presentations to our graduating students on a yearly basis. Student looking for information or applications are invited to visit the Guidance office.
CNA - Graduating students who think they would like to attend the College of the North Atlantic in September 2012 are strongly advised to send their applications in ASAP. The college places applicant names on a waitlist as soon as the application is received. Many of their programs are filled quickly meaning that students who delay applying may have to wait a year or two before getting into their program of choice. Therefore the sooner students get their name on the list the better.

MUN - Applications to MUN for September 2012 are due March 1 2012. They prefer that students apply online however will accept paper applications as well.  Students have already had the opportunity to attend a presentation about the university and it's programs. Students that apply to MUN will be interviewed by MUN faculty sometime in April or May to help them decide which courses to register for depending on which program they wish to pursue.
