Art Module Research Assignment Due: After Christmas Break 1. Research 2 (two) famous artists. (10 points)Try to include the artist’s: a) full name b) date of birth (and death if applicable) c) country of origin d) type of medium used (oil, watercolour, charcoal, etc.) e) another piece of interesting information about the artist: childhood, places studied, interesting facts, etc.
2. Describe 1 (one) piece of art that was produced by each of these artists. (2 in total) (10points) Include: a) title of the piece b) a full description of the piece, including colour, material, style, types of lines, textures, etc.
3. In a well-developed paragraph explain why one (1) of the above artists and/or pieces of art is your favourite. Write complete sentences. (10 points) 4. Create an original piece of art that is created in the style of the artist, or piece of art in # 3. (Create your own piece of art using the artist’s style.) (20 points)
Note: - Class time will be given to research and work on this assignment but you are expected to do some work at home or on your own time. The assignment should have a title page. Your assignment should have a list of places that you got your information: A Reference list. (So remember to write down any web sites or book titles from which you get information.)!!!!! NOTE: google is not a source-it is a search engine- include the web address of the information you use.Spelling will be part of this assignment so make sure you spell things correctly. I do not want students doing the same artist for #3 and #4, so when you decide which artist you are going to do tell me so that I can ensure none of your other classmates are doing the same artist. |
