Bienvenue à la page web des sciences de Mme Brunet!!

For parents and students:
Studying for an cumulative test, especially when it is the first time in grade 7, can be pretty overwhelming.  The best review strategies will vary by subject area, and will depend on the review materials made available by your teacher.  For science courses, and to make use of the review materials which I provide, a helpful review plan might be something like this:

Step 0 - if necessary, organize science notes and handouts in binder.  Download notes and SmartBoard notes as  necessary and available.

Step 1 - Complete definitions for the Unit.  Don't guess, refer to notes/handouts/textbook/SmartBoard notes as necessary.  Don't attempt to memorize at this stage, now is the time to get an overview.

Step 2 - Complete review questions.  Don't guess, refer to notes/handouts/textbook as necessary.  Don't elaborate answers, jotting down a few words is often sufficient.  If you can't find the answer to a question anywhere, don't sweat it, circle the question and come ask me.  Self-monitor for understanding: even if you find the answer to a question, if it doesn't make sense to you you should ask me too!  Don't attempt to memorize at this stage either, this is the time to review concepts and examples and check for comprehension.

Step 3 - At the end of this it becomes easier to study for recall.  Start with the definitions - once you know these terms you actually are familiar with all the key concepts in the unit.
