As many of us reflect back we can identify at least one (if not many) moment when we felt like the gentleman sitting on the stool in the cartoon above. As a math teacher it is my desire to make the study of mathematics a slightly less frightening experience and to inspire my students to smile as they carry on with their future studies.
Gary Larson often drew cartoons that spoke to specific moments from his past... Perhaps this cartoon explains why he is a great cartoonist and not a famous mathematician!!!
