The United Nations has designated October 20th, 2010 as the first World
Statistics Day. As part of the celebration, the International
Statistical Literacy Project (60 countries) have launched a poster
competition for students in grades 8-12. Information about the Project
can be found at
The poster competition has as theme "Statistics and the environment".
There is a Canadian web site at which schools can register for the
competition. The site also links to a variety of resources for
