Mobile Monthly Motivators
School Merit Program
Motivating students through recognition is one of the most effective and cost-efficient means to reinforce a school’s culture. Recognition improves student performance. It rewards the individual behaviors that collectively help a school attain its' stated goals and objectives. A properly constructed merit program will enable our school to effectively and efficiently support, recognize and reward our students resulting in motivated, more satisfied students. At the conclusion of each month we will hold a Mobile Monthly Motivator Assembly. We will award prizes for 100% monthly attendance, students of the month, and recognize students who demonstrate positive behaviours which are appreciated by teachers or by their fellow students. It is our intention to award our students with attractive school
merchandise that promotes the school’s values.
The objectives of our Mobile Monthly Motivators School Merit Program are as follows:
1. Attendance
To recognize students who achieve 100% attendance on a monthly basis (Full attendance is defined as being present for the full school day or being excused only by Principal’s approval)
Notes
All students who have 100% attendance at the end of each month will have their names placed in a draw for 5 prizes which will be drawn at the assembly
2. Academic Performance-“Student of the Month”
Academic Achievement-Recognize students working or achieving to the best of their ability in their course work.
Academic Excellence-Recognize students who consistently demonstrate academic excellence in their course work.
Notes
Every teacher may submit the names of two students as student of the month. One submission should be for academic achievement and one for academic excellence. These selections should be generated from course work. During the monthly draw there will be 10 Prizes drawn from the combined box of academic achievement and academic excellence. All students who are submitted as “Student of the Month” will have their names placed on the school website under that category and will receive a school certificate.
3. Positive Behaviours
Teacher Recognition-Recognize students who are observed by teachers engaging in a positive behaviour
Student Recognition-Students recognizing other students who are nominated using our online nomination form
Notes
When teachers observe students engaging in positive behaviours a nomination form should be completed immediately. There is no limit on the number of forms teachers can issue.. All nomination forms will be placed in a draw for 5 prizes to be awarded at the end of each month. Students may nominate other students as well by completing an online nomination form. These nominations will be placed in the same draw.
Through our Mobile Monthly Motivators School Merit Program we hope to:
Recognize and reward good performance and good behaviours
Provide tangible symbols of achievement by presenting attractive school merchandise
Increase student satisfaction
Increase student attendance
Increase student achievement
Stimulate a long term interest in course rigor
